Step By Step Landscape Lighting Project

In this section, we will talk about the installation process from start to finish including lighting design, fixture types and styles, transformers and wiring, warranties, and our "Satisfaction Guarantee".

Step One is for us to personally visit with you, the homeowner, and find out exactly what you are looking for and what lighting effects you hope to achieve with your new landscape lighting system. We'll walk around the yard and landscape with you, make notes, make suggestions, and most importantly we will "listen" to you. After all, this is going to be your lighting system. Although we are very comfortable designing and installing your system on our own, we want you to be involved and to have as much input as you would like to have. That's why we call it a"Custom Design".

Step Two is to select fixture types and styles. We will make suggestions for types because of function more than anything, but there may be different colors, shapes, styles, and warranties available that you may wish to take a look at. Our stock fixtures are the "Lightcraft" brand. Lightcraft manufactures some of the best products on the market at very reasonable prices. Their standard fixtures are typically cast aluminum with a special durable powdercoat finish in a dark brown/bronze color that carry a 10 year warranty. They also offer solid copper and brass fixtures that feature a Lifetime Warranty. Transformers come in two varieties: Steel and Stainless Steel. The steel units carry a 10 year warranty and are typically a black or brown powdercoated finish, while the stainless steel are natural shiny stainless and carry a Lifetime Warranty.

Step Three is for us to sit down and discuss cost and pricing. At this time we will explain everything that is involved with installing your new lighting system and give you a total price for the project in writing.

Step Four is to schedule an installation day. The installation is typically broken down into two stages. The first stage is the "temporary installation", which is where we install the lights in a non-permanent fashion so that we can make adjustments that very evening as we study the lights together at dark. Once you are 100% satisfied with the effects of the lights we can go to stage two which is the "final installation". To make the system final we will strip the wires and make permanent connections with special grease filled wire nuts, bury the wires to conceal them, and set the fixtures into the ground.

Step Five is for any final adjustments, if needed, go over the system operations with you and issue you with your owner's manual and final invoice.
